Hi, I lost my phone so ordered a new replacement sim which I received... what do I do now, just put it in the phone and it'l work away or do I have to activate it somehow?

Can I get the moving code text sent in less than a 160 character text. My phone is old and can only deal with 1 message and the code is getting cut off by the 160 limit any work around out there can I find the code somewhere?
