Question for 48 support staff. I can't make a iPhone facetime call over 3G/Cellular. No problems with facetime over wifi. Does 48 block facetime calls over 3G?
Thanks for any help.

Is Facetime over data connection enabled on your phone?

If so then maybe 48 don't support it - log a support query to ask them.
Hope this helps.

I seem to recall FaceTime being discussed on the old forum but can't remember the details or access the relevant content now that the old forum is gone... Is this thread of any use by any chance?
Can you just try it and see if it works?
Hope this helps.

Yes, I already tried to make a Facetime call over 3G and fails and said I needed a Wifi connection. I know that iPhone can make facetime calls if allowed by the carrier. So just checking if there is a setting I need to change.
I have no problem with iMessage over cellular data, works great.

Thanks for the answer. Looking at the CNET article it appears one needs iPhone4s or later for Facetime over 3G. I have iPhone 4. So no luck for me! Thanks Again.

Other sites suggest that FaceTime over cellular data connection should work on any iOS 6 device - including iPhone 4. Are you on iOS 6? Is the FaceTime over data connection option enabled?

No According to info on http://www.apple.com/ios/facetime/
At the bottom of the page it states:
*FaceTime video calling requires a FaceTime-enabled device for the caller and recipient and a Wi-Fi connection. FaceTime over a cellular network requires iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, or iPad (3rd generation) with cellular data capability. Availability over a cellular network depends on carrier policies; data charges may apply.

Ah - OK - I didn't see that. Sorry about that! Some other sites are a bit misleading so suggesting that the only requirement is iOS 6 and not iOS6 AND iPhone 4S or later.
