SIM not being recognised by new Pixel 9a phone

JohnD2148

Hi, I recently bought a new Pixel 9a and the phone doesn't seem to recognise when the SIM is entered. I have restarted it, and no joy. The sim works fine in my older 4a phone. Any ideas? I am not sure if the problem is with the phone or the network/sim.

Thanks in advance.

Perhaps the Pixel 9a needs a class C/1.8 volt SIM and your SIM is old and only class B/3V?

Maybe try a replacement and see if that helps:

Yes, probably the SIM class C issue alright...

Did this get sorted out by ordering a replacement SIM? I'm in the same boat

Most people don't bother to post follow ups so you'll probably be as well to order a new/replacement SIM and try for yourself.

Well I am going to post follow up, as of today the new sim worked in the Pixel 9a phone.

That's great.

That might help others.

Glad you got it sorted.

Ive got a pixel 10 and same error so I guess new sim needed too?

Very likely.

Best to try that first.

And make sure that the phone is updated to the latest software available from Google.
