If eircom is your email service provider then you need to contact them to get the correct settings to use to send and receive email. This is not something that 48 controls. E.g. are these the relevant settings?

What phone (make and model) are you using?
What email client are you using?
What settings are you using at the moment?
Edit: oh - just noticed this in the above link:

I don't think that 48 provide an SMTP server in which case you may be restricted to webmail.
Maybe ask 48 support if they provide an SMTP server if that's what is needed here:
