Hi,
On a recent trip to Northern Ireland, my SIM card was unable to connect to data. Voice calls worked fine. The device is a child's smart watch so there was limited troubleshooting available; I couldn't even see which network is was picking up for the voice calls.
I did see the APN settings mentioned "Tesco"; the nature of the device means it's hard to get more info. I know Tesco Mobile were formerly Liffey Telecom, and Liffey Telecom is mentioned in the APN settings on the 48 help pages, so ... maybe this is correct?
The device has roaming enabled, and my 48 plan shows 0GB used / 17GB available under "EU and UK Roaming"
Questions:
1. Does this sound like bad APN settings (voice call roaming works but not data)
2. Are the APN settings listed here the correct ones?
Thanks,
Paul.

Isn't there a way to connect to the smart watch to use a web based configuration interface to configure things and diagnose problems?
What is the make and model of the smart watch?
Does mobile data work with it while not roaming in NI?
Both Tesco and 48 (and some other virtual mobile networks?) use a Liffey Telecom APN and sometimes some devices misidentify 48 as Tesco but that doesn't create any problems other than the visual misidentification.

Quite possibly.

See here:
The usual roaming advice is also worth checking just in case...
If you need to contact 48 support about this then see the links in my signature below.

Thanks for the reply.
Device is an Xplora XGO3. Mobile data works fine when not roaming, and has done since we got it. There is a mobile app, but it doesn't let you configure network settings, etc. It's simply for viewing the watch's location, and sending/receiving messages.
Annoying thing is that I'm based in Dublin, so managing to test any chances isn't feasible in the short tern.

That's odd given that the device page says this...
Xplora's smartwatches prioritize safety and control, ensuring a secure experience by not providing access to the internet.
