do i fit old sim to receive text?

If you are referring to the security text when porting a number from another provider to 48 then you need to have the old provider's SIM installed and working in order to receive that:

> Keep your current SIM Inserted in your handset as we need to send a security code via SMS to start your number transfer.

> If your current SIM isn’t active and your unable to receive SMS to the number you want to keep, you’ll need to contact your old provider regarding your account. Your current number and SIM need to be active to move to 48.

If you are referring to something else then please clarify.

Once you do that if you have problems with the 48 SIM installed in your phone then...

Did you successfully activate the 48 SIM?

Is your phone unlocked for use on any network?

If you are not getting a connection to the 48 network - i.e. signal bars - then what happens when you do a manual search for networks? Can you see and connect to 48? If no then do you get any errors?
