To begin using 48 Mobile and claim your free 1GB, you’ll need to activate your 48 SIM first.
When activating your SIM, you can:
- Move your existing number, or
- Get a new number from us.
If you're not ready to move your number right away, you can choose to get a new number from us and use it temporarily until you're ready to move your existing one — whenever it suits you.

How do I activate My48 SIM?
How to activate your 48 SIM?
- Go to 48.ie and select "Activate your SIM" — or click here to go directly to the activation page.
- Choose how you got your SIM:
- If you ordered your SIM online, click "Sign In to Activate."
- If you got your SIM in a store or didn’t order it online, click "Sign Up to Activate."
- Depending on your selection:
- Online orders: Sign in using the email and password you created when placing your SIM order.
- In-store SIMs: Create your account to get start and register your email and then create your account password.
- Next select "My SIM has arrived" or "I already have a SIM card."
- Enter the 6-digit activation code printed on the SIM card frame.
- You can then choose to either:
- Move your number from another network immediately, or
- Get a new number from 48.

If you’ve misplaced your 6 character activation code, you can activate your SIM by entering the long number on the back of your SIM Card, it will look something like this: 1122333445556BB
First enter the prefix 893531 and then include the first 12 digits of your SIM number (exclude the last digit & both alphabetical letters), now select "activate", and you're back in action!

If your SIM activation is failing or you're seeing an error like "Sorry, that isn't a valid activation code," try the following:
- Clear your browser history and restart your browser.
- If the issue persists, try a different browser or device.
- Double-check that you're entering the correct 6-digit activation code from your SIM card.
