Your post was blank @JohnH4939 and the subject line doesn't really provide sufficient information to understand your issue clearly.

What exactly do you mean by "upgraded phone"?

Do you mean a software update or a new phone handset?

If the latter then are you sure that the phone is unlocked for use on any network?

What exactly do you mean by it's "looking for SIM card name"?

What is the exact prompt/message and behaviour when you switch the phone on with the 48 SIM installed?

Is anything working - connection to network/signal bars, calls, texts, mobile data?

Thanks for your reply.i have new phone and when I have inserted my old SIM card in new phone I can make calls etc but my phone says in mobile network. 48 not set and SIM card number needed. Thanks

Sorry, I'm still confused...

Is this the verbatim message?

  • "48 not set and SIM card number needed"

What do you mean by "in mobile network"?

If you're referring to something in the phone settings then please clarify exactly the location - e.g. Settings > Network & Internet > SIM Cards > SIM Slot 1 > Number or whatever.

You previously said that it was asking for the SIM card name. Is that not the case?

If calls (and texts and mobile data?) are working ok then this probably isn't a critical issue.

What make and model of phone is it?
