Do you have an active membership though?
What does your My48 account page say about your membership status/expiry date, allowance balances (landline calls, mobile calls, texts, data) and cash credit balance?
48 is not like other pay as you go services - just having cash credit doesn't mean that things will work - you need a monthly membership.
