no phone service in Austria

I'm in Austria and there is no phone service at all. It hasn't connected to a service once. Please help as I've paid a €5.50 supplement to get 35 EU texts and 15 EU mins neither of which I can use because there's no service.

What networks do you see if you do a manual scan for networks?

Do you have roaming enabled?

If you are using an iPhone then it may need activation on a new network before you can use it.
