Mobile Data problem

When I turn my mobile data on on my phone the phone never finds any signal. I know my settings are correct and I have the membership and allowance as the internet always seems to miraculously find signal every time I pass through Kilkenny on the motorway. Once the phone finds signal it will stay on and the mobile internet will work as normal until I turn it or the phone connects to a wifi network. 

This has been going on for weeks and I always attempt to turn mobile data on every weekend at home in Waterford and in college in Dublin during the week but the phone never finds signal, then as soon as I head off on the motorway the phone gets signal.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
