If you do this it should work out ok for you. I don't believe the actual settings change just with a new IOS, just the interface changes. Did you already try using the Internet settings that are provided for the Iphone?
If that doesn't work try this out.

This will work if you still have the option to input the new apn. My iphone has lost this option since i downloaded ios7, i've been trying all day to sort this out. 48 don't seem to have an answer, pls help anyone, i have an iphone 4s

This is known to happen.
You can manually reset - as you can see here:
If you are planning to upgrade your iDevice to iOS7, you can prevent your internet settings from being reset. While your phone is updating, you will be asked if you want to udpate your carrier settings. If you decline, the upgrade will go on, and your current Internet and MMS settings will be kept. That's the easiest option. If you chose to update your carrier settings during the upgrade, the 48 settings will have been removed, and you will need to set them up again manually:
