Hi i recently joined the 48 network but my sim wont work in my i phone. My i phone is unlocked to all networks except 48!! Ive done all the restore and restart etc and no luck. Phone says the sim card is not valid. That the sim is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. I followed the advice from the 48 community but to no avail. I am after talking to an apple support service worker that has told me 48 need to do this this is not an apple device problem that it is a 48 network problem. I am 10 days without a phone now and being passed from one person to the next. Please help me out 🙂

I thought that this was an issue for Apple to sort out but if they say that it's something for 48 to sort out then you will need to log a support query to get 48 support to look into it for you:
Hope this helps.

Was it activated before on anther carrier or is this a new out of the box iPhone never used of another carrier before?

Hi Avril
This comes up - Alot, on the forum.
However, i would be wary that the handset is locked on Vodafone... if you got the fone through them, & you fell short of an agreement with them, this could be the problem too.
See below:
"If you're on pre pay then Vodafone say you'll need to have registered your phone and topped up by at least €127 in the last 6 months.
If you've topped up by less that €127, they may ask you to pay the remaining balance before they'll give you the code.
Best bet is to call them and ask to speak to their customer care team.Call 1747 (15c per call) from your Vodafonephone. Otherwise pop into one of the Vodafone shops and ask them to help"
If apple support delve into your query they will distinguish between this & the activation, & inform you to contact Vodafone on the matter.
I am boggled why they have led you round in circles, but i assure you - once apple support get on board it you'll be sorted in no time.
🙂

Hi! Yeah my vodafone sim worked fine as does a meteor sim and o2 sim. I left vodafone moved to 48 and put 48 sim in and have had no phone for 11 days now!! I bought the phone brand new off a guy. It was an upgrade that he got unlocked. Phone was working a1 until i moved to 48. Ive done all the trouble shooting etc and am just becoming increasingly fed up now!!!

Hi
You said you were going to ring apple, but here is their email address direct to support:
http://www.apple.com/support/contact/
It's a pain, but contrary to what you have previously been told, it's an either aVodafone or apple issue!
Let us know what it turned out to be - its an interesting topic.

Just to check - did you definitely sync with iTunes while having a small credit balance in case it sent a UK SMS to perform the activation?
