Roaming problem

I have just put my new SIM card into my iPad, it asked to update settings which I did. Since then, it has been trying to connect but with no luck. Does anyone have any idea as to why this may be? Any suggestions gratefully received.

Ok. I suspected that it might not work.
Unfortunately I'm out of ideas.
This sort of hassle is why I steer well clear of Apple products.

Yes but you still can't get it working in the iPad?

BTW in the iPhone screenshot the phone is on wifi and the APN is not configured so are you sure that carrier data is working?

I put the SIM card back into the iPad and this time I actually got a signal although there is no mobile data. I was able to input the APN details that dalyer suggested and the settings Conor suggested but still nothing DE547029-54C2-4E91-A969-EEA6749B682C.png

I wonder what changed that allowed you to do this when (as far as I understand) you could not do that earlier?

TBH dalyer I have no idea. I tapped on When Abroad and it let me onto Network Selection then to the next page and I was able to change the setting.
