Was your card reissued/updated so that the registered card details are no longer valid?
Maybe try deleting the registered card details and re-adding them?

Do you have cash credit on your account to pay for the UK calls?
In case it's relevant, Northern Ireland landlines called using the 048 prefix instead of 00 44 are treated as Irish national calls and are covered by membership/add-on call minutes allowances.
