no network after returning from holidays android

Help. My roaming didnt work in spain so my friend messed around for a couple of hours and managed to fix it. Now ive no service in Ireland and changing and adding the 48 internet APN isnt working. Can someone please help me?

I had the same issue, had no service when I returned from holidays. Nothing suggested worked for me but this did; settings > mobile data > sim applications > when abroad > network selection > manual > local home profile. My 48 appeared after a few seconds. I use an iPhone, not sure if it works for android.

It is strange, but it was the only thing that worked for me when I returned to Ireland from Spain.
