Not sure about Eir (on whose network 48 operates) but Vodafone have switched off 3G data on their network:
Are you not getting any 3G mobile data connectivity when your APN settings are configured correctly?
If you're on Android then you can text "APN" to 50048 and follow the instructions here to configure these settings:
If you configure the settings correctly and still don't get 3G connectivity/mobile data then maybe Eir have also started switching it off on their network too?
Either way it seems like 3G connectivity days are numbered so you might want to consider that.
If you need to contact 48 support about this then see the links in my signature below.

When I do a manual search for networks on my 4G phone the only 48 network that I see is "48 4G".
I don't see any "48 3G".
My son has a 5G phone and I think that he sees "48 5G" and "48 4G".
So there may be no 3G option on 48 any more?
Although this suggests that Eir still do offer 3G coverage...
Are calls and texts working?
Do you have a connection to the 48 network - i.e. signal bars?
What make and model of phone is it?
You'll probably need to contact 48 support as I suggested above in order to clarify matters in this context.
