Google Pixel 8a saying SIM not supported

Hi

Just purchased new phone and getting error message saying sim not supported, any ideas?

I presume that the phone is unlocked for use on any network?

That handset may require a class C 1.8V SIM

and if the 48 SIM that you have isn't a recent one you probably need to try a replacement:

Be aware that you probably won't get 5G connectivity with that phone on 48 because Google don't whitelist 48/Liffey Telecom for 5G connectivity:

Thanks for the reply, i think the sim is the problem. I put my husbands newer 48 sim in and it worked fine so have ordered a replacement sim. Fingers crossed.

But I presume that you didn't get 5G with your husband's SIM in the phone given what I posted about Google not whitelisting 48/Liffey Telecom for 5G connectivity?
