Unfortunately it's not (fully) true.
According to my chat with support today, only a very select list of short codes are actually supported:

To me it's a bit bizarre.
The numbers in the free and lower cost ranges are all the same price within the band, and only numbers above 57000 need individual pricing.
Why the limitation?
Nobody knows...

Yes, it's confusing/misleading alright.
This issue came up here too specifically in relation to the 51155 Credit Union VISA card activation/PIN request number.
I meant to contact 48 support to flag this with them and ask them about it but never got around to it because it hasn't affected me directly so far.
