I got a new phone and its working fine but I got email from 48 - something about settings - is there something I have to do ??

Ignore that message - it never works in my experience.

If you have a data allowance as part of your membership or a data add-on then you need to configure your settings to allow you to access the internet, send/receive MMS etc. Follow all of the steps here if you need this:
