You need membership to use services. A credit balance does not give you access most services including mobile calls, landline calls, texts and data. When you buy membership the cost is deducted there and then from your credit balance. 48's membership approach is a bit different to most networks and seems to confuse a lot of newbies.

Your membership will include some allowance for calls, texts and maybe data but some other services require credit balance payment to use them:

If you use up your membership call/text/data allowances before the month is up then you may need to buy add-ons to tide you over:

A membership always runs for a full month so if you use up your allowances then buying a new membership will NOT terminate the existing one and kick in immediately. It will "stack" up for use when the current membership expires.

Hope this helps.
