SIM not valid

Hi there.

I have just purchased an unlocked phone (previously Vodafone). I have synced it with my iTunes but it is not accepting my 48 SIM.

The message reads: "Sim Not Valid - The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information."

I have contacted the seller who has spoken to Vodafone. They have assured them that the phone is unlocked.

Does anyone have any solutions or suggestions please??

My understanding is that if you get that message then it's not unlocked.

So I'm not sure what's going on other than it looks like it's not unlocked.

If Vodafone unlock it then it should work on any network.

I would suggest trying some other (free) SIMs in it - e.g. Tesco, Lycamobile, 3, Meteor - if/when possible.

If they all give the same error then presumably it's still locked.

Hope this helps.
