Hey I just got a Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 this morning, and am new to 48, but i just noticed today that my phone seems to be constantly on roaming, even though I'm in Ireland, and I wouldn't mind only that when I'm away from my home wifi my 3G doesn't seem to work either! It just keeps coming up that it won't work on data roaming, but even when i turn that on it still doesn't work.
I've noticed some people seem to have had the same problem!
Am hopelessly confused, can't seem to figure out whats going on!
Any help would be fantastic 🙂

48 is a virtual operator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_virtual_network_operator) so you need to enable data roaming for it to work. Some phones/software have an option to enable "National data roaming" to get rid of the 'R' on the signal bars but where this option is not available and the roaming 'R' appears you just have to put up with it. It doesn't involve any additional cost or any other issues. But if you disable it then services will not work.
I presume that you can make/receive calls and send/receive texts OK?
If by the 3G issue you mean internet/data access you need to configure your internet settings for this to work. Try the online configurator and choose you specific Galaxy ACE model and it should configure the settings correctly:

You obviously also need a data allowance as part of your membership or add-on.
Hope this helps.
