What make and model of phone?
On Smartphones such as Android, iOS, Windows the contacts may get backed up depending on how they were stored.
Can you get any of them back from call logs, stored texts etc.?
If it helped at all 48 can probably give you your call/text logs on request in case you can retrieve some of the numbers from those?

Might be worth putting a lock (e.g. PIN lock) on the phone to prevent this happening again?
