My data usage only works for apps such as Facebook Chat and Whatsapp, it doesn't work on my internet app so I am unable to use google search, why is this?

That's very odd.
What happens when you try to search while on the data connection (ie not on wifi)?
Are you sure that you don't have something blocking specific apps like a firewall or something?
Does web browsing work?

Is it only Google search that doesn't work?
From the home screen widget?
Or elsewhere?
Does voice search work?
Does Google search from browser work?
What makes and model of phone?
What version of Android?
