I activated my sim but I cannot buy a plan because it keeps saying Sim is not activated. Why is this?

Are you sure that you followed the SIM activation instructions properly and successfully?
What happens if you try to do it again in case it didn't happen properly first time?
Where exactly are you getting the error message about the SIM status and what is the exact error message?
