New phone - new SIM card

I got a new phone and was told by tye shop to get a new sim as my other one might be very old and cauing slow working of things on ny phone

Your post doesn't actually contain any question.

Do you mean that you have an existing 48 SIM but it didn't work in your new phone? 

What happened? Any error messages? 

Is the phone unlocked for use on any network?

What did the shop mean by "causing sore working"?

That doesn't really make sense.

Maybe your phone needs a class C 1.8V SIM and your existing 48 SIM doesn't support that? 

If that's the case then things simply wouldn't work - not that they'd be "slow".

What make and model is the phone?
