No service in Amsterdam

Just landed in Amsterdam and my phone can't find any network. I've tried to go into my settings/phone/sim applications but when the 48 sim menu comes up, it won't let me click on the when abroad option or any other option. Any help??

Are you on a Guido membership?

If not the you won't be able to do EU roaming.

If you are then it's probably this - or is that what you've been trying?

Have you kept trying?
It can take many attempts to get it working.
Switching airplane mode on and off and then trying it quickly may help to catch the local network briefly and allow it to work.
Blame Apple for the stupid way that they do things unfortunately.
