What happens when you try the Tweakker online configurator?

http://48months.tweakker.com/choose/Nokia/Lumia%20520

Do you not get the configuration/provisioning text to your phone or does something else go wrong?

This seems to be a common enough problem - I've never managed to configure any phone using the online configurator. I don't know why this happens and it seems as if 48/Tweakker can't/won't address the issue in spite of lots of people reporting problems with it... Man Sad

Have you tried the generic Windows 8 configuration settings guide?

Windows 8 phones

If you search the forum for "Lumia 520" there are a number of existing threads on this very issue.

One problem with some Windows phones is that the APN cannot be configured at all until the access point extension is installed:

If none of the above helps then please post more details about what you do and what doesn't work.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like you need to install the access point extension that I mentioned above so.
Vpn is not relevant here.

Hope this helps.

i got it sorted i had to download sysapp to add an access point option to settings on nokia lumia, not impressed with nokia but thanks a lot for you help

Glad you got it sorted.

It seems to be common enough with some Windows phones that you have to install the access point extension before you can configure the APN/internet settings.

I think it's omitted by default with some or all phones that are locked to a particular network in the expectation that the carrier will provide and lock down these settings rather than allowing the customer to change them.
