I've changed my sim from an iPhone 4 to iPhone 5 and same number and same network but now I am getting hardly an service why is this??

What exactly do you mean "hardly any service"?
You also say "no service".
Does anything work?
Is the iPhone 5 unlocked for use on any network?
When you scan for networks can you see and connect to 48?
