I have had no service since yesterday. It says "no service" where the bars usually would be. How do I fix this?

Did anything change on your phone recently? E.g. software update, changes to settings, sync with iTunes?

Is data roaming enabled?

Try powering off, reseating the SIM and powering on again.

What networks can you see if you scan for networks?

If you can't see or connect to 48 (or O2 if 48 is not listed) then you may need to ask 48 support for advice:

I'm experiencing no service since I woke this morning. Could have started later last night not sure. Made no changes to phone. Turned off and on no change. Can only scan Vodafone and Meteor...

Working fine for me today in Dublin (central).

I was in Glendalough yesterday with no coverage but I don't think that's unusual down there.
