Lost My IPhone. Is there anyway 48 could trace my number?

I lost or someone robbed my iphone there the other day. I tried tracing it with the find my iphone app but it says my iphone is offline. Is there anyway 48 as a network could trace my number to find my sim?

You should report it stolen to the cops too.
