How do I stop the mmsc port resetting itself! I need it blank & it keeps coming up with 80 in box.

I have a Lumia 630. I can't receive picture msgs. I have been told I need to have gateway in msn settings at 8080 & mmsc port blank. Everytime I do this & power off, it goes back to saying 80 in mmsc port. After lots of screen shots sent & different variations tried with support, they are at a loss. Any suggestions?

I wonder if the Nokia Network Setup App might help at all?

Maybe also delete all APNs and then start configuration of the Internet and MMS APNs from scratch in case that helps?

I presume that this FAQ doesn't help...

Do either of these links help at all?

The second refers to the first but has additional info.

I realise that they refer to Tesco but since they're another virtual operator on the O2/Three network the info may still be relevant (if you obviously substitute the 48 settings for the Tesco equivalents).

Apologies if any of these are wild goose chases... Man Indifferent

No help I'm afraid. I tried deleting totally & re entering APN's but as soon as I put in gateway url of the 80 comes up in port & just won't stay blank unless I remove url. Really lost at this stage! I know what needs to be done, phone just not allowing it.

Was the phone used on another network before?

Just that some of the links mention this causing a problem if you move to another network and maybe necessitating a factory reset and reconfiguration of the settings...

It was yes, I was thinking that may be the next step, worth a try anyhow

Did you ever manage to get this sorted?

Hey, sadly no! Did a lot of on looking but no joy. Did reset of phone & tried again but it jst keeps reconfiguring fields it shouldn't...I have a friend on 48 with a windows phone who I'll see over weekend, so going to see how there's is working..

That's a bummer. I wasn't able to find any other reports of this or solutions by Googling unfortunately...

Me neither but thanks for trying. It's not the worse thing, I can get round it. More frustrating because I hate not finding a solution to an issue!
