Does 48 SIM work in Nokia 2G phones?

Hi,
I'm buying my Dad a phone that has a long battery life and very basic functionality, like the Nokia 105. Will 48s sim card work in this 2G phone?

But maybe double check with 48 support that a 2G only phone will work ok on the 48 network just to be sure.

I can't find the original thread either.
As far as I know a 2G phone should work on 48.
See here for example:
"An older device will continue to support data services on the 2G network but with slower data speeds."
But coverage may not be as good as 3G/4G.
