Can't unlock sim

Hi there.
I'm having real problems trying to enter my sim code. There's normally an option to enter it when u turn on the phone but it won't work. When I go into phone and then sim lock there's no option to enter it. I can't mske or receive calls without it.

I don't understand.

If a phone has SIM PIN locking enabled then you cannot get into it without entering the PIN.

You're saying that you are not prompted for the PIN and are able to access the phone user interface etc.?

What happens when you try to call/text?

If you are in then why do you need the PIN!?!

You seem to be using an iPhone? That being the case this article explains SIM PIN locking on iOS devices:

If you don't see the SIM PIN lock option in the phone settings menus then perhaps the phone is not recognising the SIM at all?

Did it ever work?

If so what changed before it stopped working?

I'm not prompted for the pin but can use the phone away. However I am not able to make or receive calls or use texts. Its very frustrating I don't know how to be promoted for the pin. Tried everything, taking out sim, turning off phone etc.

Sounds to me like the phone is not recognising the SIM at all.

Especially if the SIM PIN locking is not working - SIM PIN locking is enabled on a SIM so if the phone doesn't recognise the SIM there will be no prompt for a PIN and no menu option to control this.

As I asked above did the SIM ever work?

Are you getting any signal bars at all?

What networks do you see when you manually scan for networks?

Did you register/activate the SIM properly?

Yep Iv had this sim for about 2yrs. Id say you're Prob right. Can you order me a new sim please.

You can order a replacement SIM yourself.
