Lost SIM - how do I order a replacement?

If I've lost my SIM and I select "Block SIM if lost or stolen" will that block my SIM AND will it automatically re-issue me with a new SIM or is it a two part process where I have to 1) block the lost SIM and then 2) order a replacement SIM?
