As far as I recall...
If you buy an add-on then it lasts until the allowances are used up or until the end of the membership following the current one whichever happens sooner.
It does not carry over for more than one membership though.
Unfortunately the info here does not seem to be correct as it does not cover this sort of carry-over:

OK - found the post that attempted to explain the "new" rules on add-on validity:

However, as you can see, I still found it confusing!
I think what happens is that the add-on is valid for the membership month in which you purchase it AND the following membership month (assuming that it's not used up in the meantime)?
