I have the Guido deal with free texts to all networks but after sending a good few texts I have nearly no credit.

What do you mean by credit here?
Cash credit?
If your cash credit has been going down then perhaps you have been sending long texts which your phone/messaging app is converting to MMS messages which cost 30c each to send?
