4G v's 5G

When in work I'm in an area of iffy cell coverage and the data is quite poor, if I upgrade my plan from 4G to 5G will this help or make it worse? Or will there be any change?

Difficult to tell. 

What sort of places do you mean that have "iffy" cell coverage? 

If they don't have great 4G coverage because they're remote or in an area of poor cell coverage due to the terrain or whatever then I'm not sure that 5G is necessarily going to help. 

Maybe check the ComReg mobile phone coverage map tool in case that helps clarify matters?
