Did you configure your APN settings for mobile data to work?
Did you buy a monthly membership plan for outgoing calls and texts (and mobile data once the introductory free 1GB of 4G data is used up) to work?
You might want to read the New to 48 FAQs to understand how 48 works as it's a little different to some other SIM only pay as you go providers.
