Must I assign a mobile tel# if using 48 Sim for WiFi router?

I am visiting from the USA and staying in a house for a month. I ordered a 48 sim card to use for our WiFi modem/router and am activating the sim card. I don't have an Irish mobile number but that is a critical step in the activation process. What should I do...make up a number???

All 48 SIM cards come with a phone number assigned automatically. You don't "assign" a number when activating the SIM other than if you're porting your existing number from another provider. The number is largely irrelevant when using the SIM in a 4G router in any case.

 

Can you explain in more detail where exactly in the SIM activation process you're being asked to "assign" a number?

 

 

Are you sure that you're not in the number porting section which is irrelevant to your situation?
