Activated SIM & opted to port number but it hasn't ported

I got my sim yesterday and activated my plan all seemed ok, choose change over number. However when I called my partner today he said it was a new number not my original. I went through the same steps again tonite and it’s still a new number and not my original one

The phone number associated with your SIM is visible on your My48 account:

Did you follow these instructions for porting your old number? 

Did you encounter any problem or get any error messages? 

Did you receive the porting security code by text message to your old number while your old provider's SIM was installed and working in your phone? This is an essential step in porting your number from one provider to another.
