iPhone hotspot option is greyed out

My hotspot isn’t working. The hotspot option is greyed out and I can’t select it. I have an iPhone. Can anyone help?

Is your mobile data working and APN settings configured correctly?

Unfortunately Apple make it a little confusing/tricky to configure the personal hotspot on some networks such as 48.
