Hi, I’m travelling to Amsterdam the Netherlands this Sunday the 1st of March. Any time I have travelled I’ve had no roaming data, no calls, no wifi and no service. I have tried to get help from the 24 hour chat help line and it hasn’t been helpful at all. I travelled to London, UK two weeks ago and had the same issue which I’m really unhappy about. I purchased an E Sim and it didn’t work. As I mentioned above, I’m travelling to the Netherlands on Sunday and I don’t want to have the same issue? My plan is 1000MG €7.99 a month. What can I do to access roaming data and service while abroad?

For issues while roaming abroad the usual general advice applies...

Unfortunately many people still seem to have problems with roaming abroad on 48 for some reason.

(On the other hand all the people who have no problems don't post to report their positive experiences!)

If your SIM predates January 2023 then a replacement may mitigate or eliminate roaming problems:

It may be worthwhile reviewing these two threads in case any of the suggestions help to avoid roaming problems:

If calls and texts work but mobile data doesn't then double check that your APN settings are still configured correctly:

If you have returned to Ireland from roaming abroad and are having problems using the 48 network/calls/texts/mobile data then see this key post, in particular the section titled "Returned Home?":

If you still have problems then you'll probably need to contact 48 support for further assistance.

You'll need to contact the eSIM provider about that.

48 don't supply eSIMs.

Similarly, WiFi (not to be confused with mobile data) has nothing to do with 48 and is an issue between you/your phone and a local wireless network provider.
