My mobile data is down, calls work ok, only can message here as I am back home on home wifi, 5G was work8ng all week for me but nothing today

What sort of messages are you referring to above?

SMS/MMS messages don't depend on mobile data to work. 

Are you on a legacy plan with a limited mobile data allowance? 

If so then maybe you've used up your mobile data allowance and need to buy a mobile data add-on if you want to continue using mobile data for the rest of the membership month?

Got it working in the end myself after an hour of chat support not fixing issue
