How can the 5g option be activated?

For 5G connectivity you need...

1. A 5G capable phone
2. A €12.99 membership plan
3. Your APN settings configured correctly

If you're on Android you can text "APN" to 50048 and follow the instructions here:

There's no "activation" involved as such. 

You just need to meet the requirements above.
