I got a text this morning to say I used up all my data and when I went to check on the 48 app it said I have no data left even though I am on an unlimited plan. So confused.

It's not unlimited, it's 200GB on the €12.99 plan under the current FUP (Fair Usage Policy).
From next month the FUP limit will be removed and it will be truly unlimited.
From 30th August 2024 we are removing the 200GB monthly Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit on the €12.99 Plan. Customers on the €12.99 Plan will have unlimited data for data usage in the Republic of Ireland.
If you've used up your current membership plan's data allowance then you can buy a data add-on or use Flexi Data to get more data in order to continue using mobile data for the rest of the plan month:
If you need to contact 48 support about this then see the links in my signature below.

Many other users have reported here over the years getting a message that they have used up their membership data allowance when this has happened.
I don't think that it's anything new or anything to do with the imminent removal of the FUP cap.
Membership plans have always had an FUP cap on data usage up to now and it's part of the terms and conditions of the membership agreement.
