If you're having issues with your data but can still call and text, let’s check some basics before we deep dive into troubleshooting:

 

  1. Turn airplane mode on and then off.
  2. Restart your device and ensure your phone has at least two signal bars. If not, refer to Signal Issues.
  3. Ensure mobile data is on and Wi-Fi is off to make sure you’re using 48 network.
  4. Turn on data roaming if you’re roaming across cellular networks.
  5. Ensure that you have an active plan or add-on with enough data allowance. If you don’t have an active plan, you can buy one, here. For add-ons, click here.

 

NO OR SLOW INTERNET.

 

  1. Set the Network Mode to 2G/3G/4G/LTE or Auto mode.
  2. Delete the cache, cookies, and history in your browser.
  3. Uninstall any third-party browsers, battery savers, or any other recently downloaded apps.
  4. Update the device software to the latest version, using Wi-Fi, if possible.
  5. Turn off any VPN settings or apps.
  6. Android phones:
    • Reset the device APNs to default.
    • Turn on data connection or packet data. If it's already on, turn it off and back on.
    • Turn off Data Usage Limit or Data Limit.
  7. Apple phones:
    • Delete the configuration profiles for all apps you uninstalled. See Apple Support.
    • Reset network settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    • Verify the 48 Carrier Settings are up-to-date. See Apple Support.
  8. Download the Speedtest.net app from the app store, using Wi-Fi if possible, and run a speed test.

If you still can't connect or your speeds fall short of what is listed above, it’s time to give 48 Customer Care a shout, here, so they can troubleshoot the issue further.
It would be best if you can contact them from a different phone than the one you are having issues with.

 

NO INTERNET ONLY WHILE ON CALL.

 

  1. Set the Network Mode to 3G/4G/LTE. If your device is connected on 2G/GPRS/EDGE, you can't use calling and data during a call.
  2. Turn on VoLTE in device settings.
  3. Restart the device.
  4. Android devices: Wipe the cache partition and reset the device APNs to default.
  5. Apple devices: Reset network settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

If you still can't connect, it’s time to give 48 Customer Care a shout, here, so they can troubleshoot this further.
It would be best if you can contact them from a different phone than the one you are having issues with.

 

WEB PAGE DOESN’T LOAD OR SHOW IMAGES.

 

  1. Test loading the web page on a computer. If it fails, contact the website owner.
  2. Check if the website uses Adobe Flash. Mobile devices do not support Flash.
  3. Use the browser that came with the device, not a downloaded browser.
  4. Check that cookies are enabled in the browser settings.
  5. From the browser clear the cache, cookies, and history.
  6. In device settings, clear the browser app cache and data.
  7. Uninstall all apps you downloaded around the time the problem started.
  8. Update the time and date on the device and enable auto-update.
  9. Restart the device.
  10. Android devices:
    • Turn on Enable JavaScript setting.
    • Reset the web browser to default settings.
    • Turn off Block Pop Ups setting.
    • Turn off Desktop Mode.
  11. Apple devices: Reset network settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.


You may want to contact the website owner, or test the site on another device.
If the problem is not with the site, it’s time to give 48 Customer Care a shout, here, so they can troubleshoot the issue further.

 

NO OR SLOW INTERNET WHILE ROAMING.

 

If you’re having trouble connecting to a network abroad or your data doesn't seem to be working and you have an active Guido or one of our new plans, follow the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Ensure mobile data is on and Wi-Fi is off.
  2. Turn on data roaming.
  3. Perform a manual network selection and try to connect every roaming partner's network at least three times. Click here for a list of roaming partners.
  4. Reset device APNs to default.

 

NO OR SLOW INTERNET AFTER RETURNING FROM ABROAD.

 

Let's get you sorted! You may need to make some changes to your settings to get back up and running. Follow the below steps:

 

For Android Users:

  1. Perform a manual network selection.
  2. If this doesn't help, remove the SIM from your phone and then insert it back and check again. After that, reset the network settings on your phone
  3. If it still doesn't work, check the SIM in another unlocked handset.
  4. If the above settings don't work, then you may have a faulty SIM and you will need to order a replacement SIM online.

 

For iPhone Users:

  1. Go to the Settings/Mobile Data/SIM Applications and select When Abroad --> Network Selection --> Manual --> Home profile. Then search manually for a network and try to connect.
  2. To select the network manually Please go to settings> Carrier> Disable the automatic network option> It will give you the option to select the network manually.
  3. If it still doesn't work, check the SIM in another unlocked handset.
  4. If the above settings don't work then you may have a faulty SIM and you will need to order a replacement SIM online.
