where do i find the sim code to put into my phone when i start it for the 1st time?

The SIM PIN (PIN1) is included with the packaging for the SIM.

If you can't find it then see here:

Bear in mind that you can also disable SIM PIN locking if you don't want/need it.

I always disabled it as the phone is secured in other ways.
