Roaming

Hi. I've just bought a Xiaomi Redmi note 4x and it's seems I have to use the roaming option to get the data working. Is this OK? When I am using data I'm getting the 'h' symbol at the top but it seems to run a lot slower than my old device(Samsung galaxy s4) any reason why it's running so slow?

Having to enable roaming to get things working is OK.

It's because 48 is a "virtual" carrier operating on the Three network so some phones think that they are roaming even when they are on the home network.
You cannot run up any additional charges having roaming enabled to get things working so don't worry about that.

Have you done a speed test to check the internet speed on your new and old phones to get some hard data rather than subjective impressions?

Hope this helps.

Thanks for reply. I'll try the speed test! The 3g is working but almost too slowly.😕

Make sure that your settings are correct.

Having them configured incorrectly could result in slower than expected speeds.

Hope this helps.

Did that help at all @dazmar?

It's up to speed now guys, cheers!

Great - did you have to change anything?

What sort of speeds are you getting?

Are you getting H/H+ most of the time?
